Information Technology Program

As a student of the Information Technology program you will learn how to build a working computer from scratch as part of your studies. Also, internships are available to every Information Technology program student. These opportunities help you attain experience in a real-world job setting.

The Information Technology program student will learn to meet their future company’s computer technology needs, information technology infrastructure and the people who use it. Students will become familiar with selecting hardware and software products that are appropriate for their company. The student will become familiar with managing computer network capacity and performance to stay up with network bandwidth demands. They will learn how to monitor mobile and wireless usage and create wireless hotspots with roaming capabilities. The Information Technology program student will also learn about cloud services to have third-party support for hosting email and business databases.

The field of Information Technology has been identified as one of the fastest growing sectors in the economy by the U.S. Department of Labor and the department expects the demand for network and computer systems administrators to increase as firms invest in newer, faster technology and mobile networks. According to United States Bureau of Labor statistics, employment of computer support specialists is expected to grow 12% from 2014 to 2025.†
